Split-step method is a general computational technique used to solve non-linear PDE's including the Non-Linear Schrodinger equation NLS. The method is named Split-step, due to treatment of non-linearity in the time domain, and the linearity in the frequency domain during one iteration of solution. This method is also called as Split-step Fourier method.
