Wikipedians vary on the value of assignments for student editors. Sometime the articles are good, but other times they result in lots of cleanup time. An ideal assignment involves an professor that knows about Wikipedia norms, students that know about Wikipedia norms, and a grading system that encourages Wikipedia norms.
