David A. Bokee

David Alexander Bokee (October 6, 1805 – March 15, 1860) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in New York City, Bokee attended the public schools. He engaged in mercantile pursuits. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar and practiced. He served as president of the Brooklyn Board of Aldermen 1840–1843 and 1845–1848. He was a member of the New York State Senate (2nd D.) in 1848 and 1849. Trustee of the New York Life Insurance Co. from 1848 to 1860.

Bokee was elected as a Whig to the Thirty-first Congress (March 4, 1849 – March 3, 1851). He was appointed by President Fillmore as Naval Officer of the Port of New York and served from 1851 to 1853. He engaged as a shipping merchant. He died in Washington, D.C., March 15, 1860. He was interred in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
