Doesn't work properly

I've entered the parameters just like models. But they don't seem to work. In fact only marksize even shows in its display:
width = doesn't work, but in-use parameter of pushpin_mapsize fixes it. I'd prefer not to have to do that every time.
marker = doesn't work
marksize - doesn't work
float = maybe works, I can't tell, because I've set width in use to fit my screen!
label_size = doesn't work
See Doong Island for example in use.

Can I change font colour of label - it's not very prominent on this map, and e.g. white would be better?
