Ruth Hagengruber

Ruth Hagengruber (* 1958 in Regen) is a German philosopher, currently professor at and head of the philosophy institute at Paderborn University. Hagengruber earned her PhD in philosophy from LMU and taught in the philosophy department at University Koblenz and University of Cologne before coming to Paderborn. She is director of the research areas History of Women Philosophers and Scientists and Philosophy and Computing.

Research

History of Women Philosophers and Scientists

In 2012 she started a lecture on 2600 Years History of Women Philosophers. Hagengruber has contributed with various books and contributions to books to the history of women philosophers and scientists and offers series of seminars on this topic.

Philosophy of Economics and Social Affairs

Hagengruber is a trained economist and published on problems of philosophy and problems of social and political issues. Within Nutzen and Allgemeinheit she presents a model of action developed from the principles of Kant’ian ethics.
