RoboCop: Alpha Commando

Robocop: Alpha Commando was a syndicated animated series based on the character of Robocop, it was the second animated version of the character, following on from Robocop: The Animated Series in the 1980's. The series premiered on September 7th 1998, and run until February 3rd 1999.

The series is set in the year 2030, and deals with Robocop being reactivated after five years offline to assist a federal high-tech group, "Alpha Division" in their vigilance and struggle against the forces of evil whenever that may be, globally or nationally.

The series shared many of the same writers who had contributed to the 1980's animated series, but had even little in common with the movies or television canon that it was based on, nor is it as memorable as many of the live-action additions to the Robocop library, or indeed, the original animated series. Those who have been (un)fortunate to glimpse it however have noted it's inferiority to the concept and the character due to it's young target audience.

The series even contradicted it's own timeline in a two parter reuniting Robocop with his wife and ten year old son despite the child being the same age in a flashback a good twenty years ago.
