It is a test performed to detect any inducible clindamycin resistance. So a disk with erythromycin in there is placed near to the clindamycin disk. Ideal distance is usually 20mm. Erythromycin acts as inducing agent and if a D shape is formed around the Clindamycin Disk than the isolate is reported as resistance to Clindamycin.
