Wikipedia Loves Libraries event at the Cambridge Public Library

Wikipedia Loves Libraries is a series of outreach events between the Wikipedia community and libraries. This event will be held at the Grove Hall Branch of the Boston Public Library. It will include a tutorial on how to edit Wikipedia and an edit-a-thon! Particular focus will be given to articles on local history (specifically Grove Hall, Roxbury, and Dorchester), as well as African American history and persons.

Event details

  • Date: Saturday, November 10, 1:00 to 4:30 PM
  • Venue: Grove Hall Branch of the Boston Public Library, 41 Geneva Avenue, Dorchester, Massachusetts
  • Cost: Free
  • Participants: The event is open to anyone and everyone that wishes to join. No previous editing experience is necessary, as a tutorial will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers, and experienced editors will be on hand to help out. Join us for as little or as long as you like.
  • Details: Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. A limited number of library-owned laptops are available for those that cannot bring their own.
  • Registration: Pre-registration is not required, however it would be greatly appreciated if you could sign up below!
