Xploderz is a line of toy weapons made by The Maya Group to compete with Hasbro's Nerf Super Soaker line and marketed as a safer alternative to paintball.[1] The ammunition uses what The Maya Group calls "H2Grow Technology", wherein the polymer pellets (containing acrylic acid, sodium hydroxide and coloring) grow into water pellets after being immersed in water for three hours. Unlike paintball pellets, the water pellets are biodegradable, easy to clean off clothing and will not cause any bodily injury.[1][2]
The Xploderz concept is based on Orbeez, a girls' toy line also by The Maya Group that uses water-absorbent pellets.[3]
Current models
Xploderz
All Xploderz blasters come with a standard 75-round ammo clip except where indicated.
- XBlaster 200 - A pistol with a 200 rounds of ammo and a maximum firing distance of 50 feet.
- Face Off 400 - A gift set of two XBlaster 200 blasters.
- XMagnum 700 - A pistol with 700 rounds of ammo and a maximum firing distance of 65 feet.
- XStormer 1000 - A pistol with a flip-up sight and 1,000 rounds of ammo that fires up to 75 feet. Comes with Ammo Depot, which makes and holds up to 500 rounds.
- XBow 1500 - A crossbow with 1,500 rounds of ammo and a firing distance of 75 feet. Comes with Ammo Depot.
- XRanger 2000 - A sniper rifle with 2,000 rounds of ammo, a detachable stock, flip-up sight, foldable bipod and 500-round Ammo Depot. Its maximum firing distance is 85 feet.
X2 blasters
All X2 blasters feature auto-loading mechanisms and longer firing distances than the regular Xploderz blasters.
- Invader 700 - An updated version of the XBlaster 200 with a maximum firing distance of 85 feet. Comes with 700 rounds of ammo.
- Face Off 1400 - A gift set of two Invader 700 blasters.
- Mauler 1000 - An updated version of the XStormer 1000 with a firing distance of 95 feet.
- Retaliator 2000 - An improved version of the XRanger 2000 with a maximum firing distance of 100 feet.
Night Fighterz
Night Fighterz blasters are molded in translucent green and fire glow-in-the-dark Tracer pellets.
- Gen-700 - A pistol similar in appearance and performance to the Invader 700.
- Gen-1000 - The Night Fighterz equivalent to the Mauler 1000.
Discontinued models
- XGround Pounder 2500 - An assault rifle with 2,500 rounds of ammo, a detachable stock, larger 250-round ammo clip and 500-round Ammo Depot. It fires rounds up to 100 feet.
