Load testing tools are used for Software performance testing to create a Production-like workload on the System Under Test, and measure response times under this load.

Load testing tools are available from large commercial vendors such as Borland (formerly Segue Software), HP Software (formerly Mercury Interactive), IBM Rational, SmartBear Software (formerly AutomatedQA) and Web Performance Suite, as well as Open source projects.
