As often, Russian and English idiom differs. The English text of Medvedev's declaration uses the possessive plural, as is English custom; this honors all programmers, not each person his own programmer. I haven't received a gift, and apparently nobody but programers who visit wiki know about this holiday, which represent about 0.000000000....(256 0's)2 percent of the human population.
