Library Connect is a global program from Elsevier for academic, medical, corporate and government librarians. The program includes a free newsletter, seminars and interactive news channels, such as Facebook, Twitter and an RSS feed. The Library Connect Newsletter is a free subscription available in print and/or electronic format. Published three times a year, it covers information-industry best practices, issues, trends and events, as well as Elsevier product and service news.

Library Connect events

Every year, Elsevier partners with numerous libraries around the globe to coordinate Library Connect events, such as seminars, webcasts, and symposia. Libraries interested in hosting such an event should contact their Elsevier Account Manager, who will in turn coordinate with a regional events specialist. This specialist works with a contact(s) at the host library to build a program, arrange logistics, and market the event.

Library Connect events may be held at a local institution or at a regional level, and cover emerging trends and best practices within the library, e.g., e-books, mobile services, library marketing. Many Library Connect presentations are available online.

In addition, Library Connect sponsors the Digital Libraries Symposium at ALA Midwinter each year. Recent topics have included mobile technologies — issues for academic libraries, the new role and image of academic libraries, and next gen librarians.
