Weekly Reader, a leading educational publisher for over 100 years, provides engaging teaching materials to elementary and secondary schools that are used by more than 90 percent of school districts in the United States.

The company’s flagship publication is Weekly Reader, a famous, grade-specific classroom magazine that serves elementary students in over 50,000 schools across the country, and now includes Weekly Reader Spanish/English Editions for reading levels K–2 and up.

Weekly Reader also publishes branded periodicals and instructional material for middle and high school students, along with a full range of supplementary educational materials for grades Pre-K–9. These curriculum-specific products include classroom magazines, workbooks, reproducibles, early learning centers, and more.

The company’s age-and grade-appropriate elementary and secondary publications integrate reading, writing, science, math, social studies, current events, and life skills topics into exciting “news-style” classroom magazines and other formats. In this way, Weekly Reader engages students, reinforces curriculum, and helps teachers meet standards.

Elementary School Classroom Magazines:

Weekly Reader – grade-appropriate magazines for students in grades Pre-K–6 that generally cost less than 20¢ per student, per issue, and are designed with learning in mind. High-interest content builds children’s general knowledge, reinforces the literacy scope and sequence used in the classroom, and aligns with national standards. Colorful photos engage students and make learning fun. Weekly Reader helps students read, write, and learn every day while reinforcing themes and skills taught in basal reading programs.

Weekly Reader Spanish/English Editions – written in both Spanish and English, with two separate editions—one for K–1 and one for grades 2 and above. These editions, adapted from the core English-only Weekly Reader magazines, provide a solid educational and cultural basis to facilitate Spanish speakers’ transition to English.
