Windows CE 1.0 is an operating system developed by Microsoft for embedded systems.
History
The operating system was initially announced on 17 September 1996.[2]
The first devices running the new operating system were announced at Comdex in on 11 November 1996. The devices were made by companies including Casio, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard and Philips.[3]
Devices
Windows CE 1.0 ran on devices which were known as Handheld PCs. These devices include the HP 300LX[4], and the Casio Cassiopeia A-10.
