The result of the debate was Speedy close. There is no reason to delete after 2 days and we just don't bring things to MfD to ask questions about what function it serves. — MaggotSyn 10:15, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what it's purpose is; User:Example is not a real person - it is only an account to be used as an example. - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 21:27, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak keep. It serves as an example status template. This MfD caused User talk:Tm93 to be on the category for MfD pages. I will now have to remove that from the user's page. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 21:31, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep page is used for Wikipedia:Editor activity indicator. -Nard 21:33, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Problem. N just removed the mfd template from the status template. However, it says specificly not to do so. N also removed it using rollback. So is the discussion over? Should we close it as keep? Or should we re-add the mfd template? We need to decide on one or the other, or an alternate solution. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 22:03, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I removed it to prevent transclusion problems. The warning not to remove it is there so people can see it on highly trafficked pages. If nobody complains it doesn't really matter if it's removed. I doubt this page gets little if any hits so I very much doubt it actually matters in this case. Put it back if you want, but please wrap it in noinclude tags. -Nard 03:05, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep currently used example page. -- Ned Scott 05:20, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Since it currently has a purpose on wikipedia I think it should be kept. Also, I haven't seen any convincing arguments on why it should be deleted, so that seals the deal.--SJP (talk) 20:53, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ask the creator of the page. Doesn't hurt. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 02:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ask the creator of the page what? Will you please re-explain what you said in more detail? Thanks for your time:-)--SJP (talk) 03:45, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I strongly recommend this MfD be withdrawn or closed, and the page kept. You don't nominate a page for deletion until you have a valid reason for deletion. This means you should know the purpose of the page first. The purpose of the page is to demonstrate an online/offline status indicator in conjunction with the WP:UPDC. Also, there are some example menus that access that page to show how to integrate a status indicator into a menu. Please don't delete it, or a bunch of redlinks will show up on the pages it is utilized. Following "What links here" would have revealed the purpose of the page. In the future, please don't nominate for deletion pages you are unsure about. It wastes a lot of people's time. Thank you. If you have any questions about anything Wikipedia-related, I'll be glad to answer them anytime, or direct you to someone who will likely know the answer. Sincerely, The Transhumanist 04:03, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
