...enable or disable the "My courses" shortcut link
- Navigate to the education preferences (accessible at the bottom of the "Appearance" tab from My preferences).
- Select "Show a link to your courses at the top of every page"
- Press "Save".
- To disable this shortcut, uncheck the box and press "Save".
...navigate to a course page
- Navigate to the Institutions list (accessible from My courses).
- Click on the name of your learning institution.
- Select "Planned", "Current", or "Passed", depending on which applies to the course you're looking for.
- Press "Go".
- Click on the name of the course.
...sign up to review an article
- Navigate to a course page.
- Next to an article link, press "Add myself as reviewer".
- Press "Become reviewer" to confirm.
- Be sure to review the article periodically for style, sourcing, and general overall quality.
...stop reviewing an article
- Navigate to a course page.
- Next to an article link, press "Remove myself as reviewer".
- Press "Remove yourself" to confirm.
...enroll in a course
Please note that this process is in no way linked to your actual enrollment in the class at your institution; if adding the course you will need to follow the institution's formal procedures as well.
- Navigate to your course page.
- Next to the search bar (you may need to use the drop-down menu), click "Enroll".
- Enter the enrollment token provided by your instructor or campus ambassador, and press "Enroll with this token".
- If the green confirmation message appears, you're finished. Otherwise, continue following the steps below.
- (Optional) You will be prompted at this time for your gender if you have not provided it previously. Disclosing it is optional and provides no additional functionality, except that certain messages on Wikipedia that would otherwise say "his or her" will be tailored to say "his" or "her".
- Click "Submit".
- If the green confirmation message appears, you're enrolled!
...access the page for a course you are enrolled in
- Navigate to My courses.
- Click the name of the course you wish to access.
...disenroll from a course
Please note that this process is in no way linked to your actual enrollment in the class at your institution; if dropping the course you will need to follow the institution's formal procedures as well.
- Navigate to the course page.
- Next to the search bar (you may need to use the drop-down menu), click "Disenroll".
- (Optional) Enter a reason for disenrolling (such as "dropped the course").
- Click the button that says "Disenroll".
- If you see a green message, you've successfully disenrolled.
...indicate which article you are working on
- Navigate to your course page.
- In the table containing student names, locate the row containing your name. Enter the name of the article you are working on (case-sensitive). If the article already exists, verify the title is correct by watching for it in the suggestion drop-down that appears while you type.
- Press "Add article".
...edit the name of the article in the article list
- Navigate to your course page.
- In the table containing student names, locate the row containing your name. Click the "remove article" link.
- In the confirmation dialog, press "Remove article".
- Add the correct article title.
...list an institution
- Navigate to the Institutions list (accessible from My courses).
- Verify your institution is not already listed (check alternate spellings)
- Under "Add a new institution", type the name of the institution.
- Click "Add institution".
- Verify the name is correct, type the nearest city name, and select the country. For countries without cities, the city may be left blank.
- Click "Submit".
...remove an institution
Note: Deleting an institution will also delete all courses associated with it. If they need to be undeleted later, each course will need to be undeleted individually. In addition to the method below, institution pages can be deleted like a normal page from the page itself.
- Navigate to the Institutions list (accessible from My courses).
- Locate the institution in the table, and click the "Delete" link next to it.
- (Optional) Type a summary explaining why you are delisting the university.
- Press "Remove institution" if you are sure you want to delete the institution and all associated classes.
...list a course
- Navigate to the Institutions list (accessible from My courses).
- Click on the name of your learning institution. (If it is not on the list, you will need to list the institution.)
- Verify the course is not already listed.
- Fill out the "Add course" form on the page.
- Press the "Add course" button.
- Fill out the "Add course" form on the next page. Note: The enrollment token is a password students will enter in order to list themselves on this page as students.
- Press "Submit".
- If you are supporting this course, list yourself as instructor for the course.
- Distribute a link to the course page to all students in the course. Note that students cannot view the enrollment token, so this must be distributed to students as well.
...revise a course page
- Navigate to your course page.
- Next to the search bar (you may need to use the drop-down menu), click "Edit".
- Make any desired changes.
- In the field labeled "Summary", enter a summary of what you've changed.
- If the changes you made are minor (for example, fixing typos, grammar, or using different words that mean the same thing), check the box next to "This is a minor edit".
- Press "Submit".
...delete a course page
NOTE: Student, instructor and other data is not lost upon deletion, and upon restoration the list of students and articles, etc., will remain as it was before.
- Method 1 (individual courses)
- Course pages may be deleted like any other page.
- Method 2 (individual or multiple courses)
- Navigate to Special:Courses.
- Check the box on the left of the table for each course you want to delete.
- Press the "Delete" button at the bottom.
...list yourself as for a course
- Navigate to your course page.
- Click "Become ".
- (Optional) Provide a reason for listing yourself.
- Click the button that says "Become ".
- A dialogue box will appear notifying you this was successful.
...delist yourself as for a course
- Navigate to your course page.
- Next to your name, click "Remove as ". If the link does not appear, refresh the page.
- (Optional) Enter a reason summarizing why you are removing yourself from the course page.
- Press "Remove " if you are sure you want to remove yourself from the course page.
- A dialogue box will appear confirming the action is complete.
...delist a student in a course
WARNING: removing a student will cause any articles or reviewers listed as associated with that student to no longer appear on the course page. This information is not restored if the student enrolls again. Please use caution when using this feature.
- Navigate to your course page.
- Next to the student's name, click "remove from course".
- Press the button that says "Remove student".
...create a profile
- Navigate to profile (accessible from My courses).
- Make sure the checkbox indicating to publicly list your profile is filled in.
- Enter an introduction in the text area, keeping in mind this will be visible to the public.
- In the "Profile photo" text box, type the name of an image uploaded either to the English Wikipedia or to Wikimedia Commons. As you type, the autosuggest feature should help you spell the name correctly. Once you finish typing in this field, a preview of the image should appear.
- Press "Submit" to save.
- If you see a green confirmation message, your profile was saved.
...update your profile
- Navigate to profile (accessible from My courses).
- Make sure the checkbox indicating to publicly list your profile is filled in.
- Make any desired changes.
- Press "Submit" to save.
- If you see a green confirmation message, your profile was saved.
...delist your profile
- Navigate to profile (accessible from My courses).
- Deselect the checkbox indicating to publicly list your profile.
- Press "Submit" to save.
- If you see a green confirmation message, your profile was delisted successfully.
...list someone else as instructor or ambassador for a course
- Navigate to your course page.
- Click "Become an instructor", "Become an online ambassador", or "Become a campus ambassador".
- (Optional) Provide a reason for listing yourself.
- Click the button that says "Become instructor", "Become online ambassador", or "Become campus ambassador".
- A dialogue box will appear notifying you this was successful.
...delist someone else as instructor or ambassador for a course
- Navigate to your course page.
- Next to your name, click "Remove as instructor", "Remove as online ambassador", or "Remove as campus ambassador". If the link does not appear, refresh the page.
- (Optional) Enter a reason summarizing why you are removing yourself from the course page.
- Press "Remove instructor", "Remove online ambassador", or "Remove campus ambassador" if you are sure you want to remove yourself from the course page.
- A dialogue box will appear confirming the action is complete.
...add or remove an instructor or ambassador to/from the system
- Navigate to User rights (accessible from Special pages in the toolbox).
- Enter the username of the individual.
- Press "Edit user groups".
- Make desired changes. (Note that only a bureaucrat or Education Program staff may add/remove the Education Program staff access level)
- (Optional) Provide a reason for changing the user access level.
- Press "Save user groups".
- Verify the user access level now appears in the "Member of" list above the checkboxes.
