Wikipedia:Restrictions on Anonymous Editing from Shared IPs
Appearance
![]() | The following is a proposed Wikipedia policy, guideline, or process. The proposal may still be in development, under discussion, or in the process of gathering consensus for adoption. |
This policy proposes to prohibit any AOL user to edit any Wikipedia article until they are a registered user. To prohibit an AOL user, instead of the typical edit this page tab, there will be a edit(requires registration) or view source tab. This will lessen the vandalism from many AOL vandals, and can serve justice to the right person instead of the wrong person. This proposal only targets AOL users, as other normal anons don't change their IP address very quickly.
Also, if a good person from AOL comes to edit, they can become registered users and edit from that account, so this policy wouldn't harm the good contributors.
