EPA® Hot runner systems for Organic materials The epa® company is a French company creates in 1973 in Lyon on the Rhone Alps area. The company is specialized in the development of process under control and hot runner systems for plastics moulding.
EPA systems has developed systems of injection. Their daily newspaper falls under the production and design of the activities around the process of the injection. The large asset of this company is the interest carried to new materials, under development full: the biodegradable materials are in the middle of the recent developments. This request comes directly from the customers of EPA. The company was to locate like a manufacturer and developer of new processes. The problems first for organic materials are the stabilization of their lifetime and the brittleness of these products. Indeed, the difference between traditional technology, with the characteristics known for the temperature of heating for example, finds news give with organic materials: any remainder to be adapted. It is thus a true challenge which expects EPA, with the multiple problems: the corrosion of materials, their anticipated degradation and the stabilization of the cycles and the results improve of days in days. There are certainly these technological and industrial data to take into account but the most important remainder the final quality of the product and its environmental impact: will there be plastic particles still present once the degraded product?
Cadflow intervenes in the process of development via the Cadmould software available to EPA. The combination of the expert testimony of Cadflow and the science of EPA makes it possible to find results close to reality and to envisage the reactions of materials as well as possible.
“It is an activity in constant evolution, we started from a standard line which does not cease evolving. The projects are many and tributary, the systems are increasingly complex” entrusted Mr Seymarc to us, chief executive officer of EPA. Patent fillings to protect the processes are also in hand.
Mr Seymarc is trustful for the future and is persuaded that the majority of the plastic parts will be able to apply the processes to become ecologist. The products for the moment are extended to the food, agricultural and domestic sectors, but he would like to find solutions to attract automobile industry, very carrying and vector new fashions of consumption. Moreover, he affirms that the government plays a role to play to make evolve mentalities, towards a greener future.
The product is certainly organic, but Cadflow raised the question: does the manufacturing process respect this commitment? EPA is a committed company and seeks to modify its daily newspaper, there are a real desire and an important investment to change the practices which result in small changes which make the difference.
EPA insists that industry becomes aware of the impact that each one can have on the environment and ensures that by changing certain operating processes, we will make the difference together. “Thus, to promote Made In France allows to reduce the costs of transfer and to decrease pollution” the manager of EPA says.
A way of change…For future…
