Arms and Equipment Guide
Arms and Equipment Guide is a supplementry rule book for the D&D fantasy roleplaying game. It was concerned with all manners of equipment that could possibly be used in a campaign. It was published in 2003.
Wepons and Armour
The first section of the book is concerned with mundane wepons and armour. It introduces many new wepons. An exaple is the Gyrspike, a sword with a spiked ball attached to the hilt by a chain.
Next it gives examples of the use of wepons in different cultures and time periods, and the names they were known by.
It describes several different materials for use in creating wepons or armour, such as bronze and coral.
Adventuring Gear
Approxiamitly a gross items show up in this section. Everything from the price of clothes, to candles, to alchemical items.
The section ends with a discussion on economical systems in a fantasy world.
Vehicles
A wide range of vehicles are discussed in this section, from nautical wind-powered ships and horse drawn carriages, to zeppelins and Triceritops. Rules are given on how to controll mounts, and what happens when to vehicles crash. Several magical items are given for the use in vehicles, such as the Wind-Favoured Sails.
Hirelings and Creatures
Prices are given for hirelings of various skill levels. Also stats are given for cheap to expensive mercenaries, including some strange races, like Pixies. A section on pets discusses how you train certian animals and what the risk involved is. This idea is expanded on it the theory of guard animals. Guard animals are slightly different from pets, and a lot more risky to trian. New creatures are introduced, like the Climbdog. Rules concerning mounts. Several magic items relating to animal training for several different roles. New mount animals proposed.
Magic Items
Many new potions, rings, staffs, rods, and wondrous items are detialed in this chapter. A new type of potion called "Elixir Armour" is described. Elixir Armour is a potion made from the essence of a certian animal, that grants a certain deffensive bonus to the drinker, by altering their skin.
Wepons
A large part of this books focus was on magical wepons. 3 pages of wepon abilities is followed by 24 pages of specific magical wepons. This covers Acid Fang Daggers, Whisperblades, and everything in between. The prices of the wepons range from 50 gp to 3,920,335 gp.
Special Magic Items
This section contains new intelligent, cursed, and artifact items. The most notible of which include The Regalia of Might, and The Rod of Seven Parts.
