Wireless transaction protocol is a standard used in mobile telephony. It is a layer of the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) that is intended to bring Internet access to mobile phones.

WTP(Wireless Transaction Protocol) supports reliable message exchange between the device and the server by transmitting acknowledgement message to confirm the receipt of data and by transmitting data that has not been acknowledged within a suitable time period .
