Mark A. Sampson (born January 6, 1964 in Harbor City, California) is currently the Managing Partner for Vintage Fund Management, LLC and a Managing Director for Vintage Capital Group, LLC. Mr. Sampson is responsible for managing all of the private equity investment activities for Vintage.

Education

In 1986, Mr. Sampson earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He then began playing with the San Diego Padres professional baseball organization. In 1995, Mr. Sampson earned his master of business administration degree from the Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management.

Career

In 1987, Mr. Sampson joined Wells Fargo Bank, and was accepted into the loan officers development program. After successfully completing the management training program, Mr. Sampson worked in the middle market commercial banking group until 1989. In 1989, Mr. Sampson joined Union Bank , working in their middle market lending group until 1993 when he left as a Vice President to rejoin Wells Fargo Bank. In 1995, Mr. Sampson joined Credit Suisse First Boston as a Vice President in their Corporate Investment Banking Group in Los Angeles, and later moved to New York managing the west coast credit product portfolio as well as a member of the health care industry group. Mr. Sampson moved to the principal investment arena and in 2002 joined Vintage Capital Group to develop the principal investment activities which he has led since inception.

Boards

Mr. Sampson has been a member of the board of directors for PCA Aerospace (Chairman of the Board), Avioserv San Diego (Chairman), ATS Systems (Chairman), CMI Holdings (Chairman), and eScreen, Inc., and SteriMed Waste Systems. Mr. Sampson is also a board observer for PlayNetworks, Inc, and is a member of the operating committee for Lubricating Specialties Company, Inc. Mr. Sampson was the past interim CEO for PCA Aerospace, Inc.
