Clarification?

I don't understand this phrase. Similarly "... ligation of restriction half-site specific adaptors to all restriction fragments.". Presumably this is the same thing?

"A subset of the restriction fragments are then amplified using two primers complementary to the adaptor and restriction site fragments."

Does this mean that the primers span the end of the fragment and the adaptor?

OK, I think I got it now... I have tried to reword the article to make this clearer, but I may have screwed it up a bit in the process... --Dan|^(talk) 13:22, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amplified fragment length polymorphism → AFLP — AFLP has never been an acronym and the title of this page suggests it is. See the Discussion of the original Vos et al. 1995 paper where it they state explicitly that it is not an acronym. Furthermore, the use of it as an acronym is misleading because it suggests that the method results in length polymorphisms, which it does not.
