This page sets out the standard format for election articles. Sections can be deleted as appropriate to the election type

General/parliamentary/presidential elections were held in Fooland on 30 February 2000.

Background

Background to the election, including details of the previous government, reasons for the election being called (if it's an early one), formation of new parties since the previous election etc.

Electoral system

Details on the electoral system, including any changes made since the previous election.

Conduct

Details about the conduct of the election (e.g. if there are any irregularities or problems).

Campaign

Information on the election campaign, including any major areas of debate, incidents (e.g. violence) and party platforms.
