Rajeeb Samdani (born in 28 March 1974) is a Bangladeshi industrialist. He is currently the Managing Director of Golden Harvest Group [1][2] and the founder and trustee of Samdani Art Foundation. His various business ventures include Information Technology, Commodities, Logistics, Food Processing, Agriculture, Aviation, Banking, Real Estate, etc. He is also the Secretary General of Bangladesh Human Rights Foundation[3] and Founder & Trustee of Alvina Samdani Trust & Taher Ahmed Choudhury Charitable Hospital (TACCH).[4] He is also the director of The City Bank Limited, which is one of the first private sector banks in Bangladesh.

Career

He started his career at the age of 23, as a commodity broker with the British steel trading company Stemcor. As the commodity business[5] grew and more diversified with the passing years, in the year 2010, Golden Harvest achieved a commodity sale of $ 1 billion.

Over the years Golden Harvest has expanded into many sectors and has over 2500 employees. In 2011, Golden Harvest has expanded business into Logistics Industry with its Japanese partner Nippon Express, the largest logistic company in Asia and the seventh largest logistic company in the world.

Personal life

He is married to Nadia Samdani,[6] a British born Bangladeshi. Nadia Samdani is the Managing Director of Samdani Art Foundation,[7] a non – profit Art infrastructure development organization [8]. The foundation is involved in promoting Bangladeshi arts to the international arena[9][10] The collector couple[11] is well known for their local and international art collection [12] [13], as well as their Bengal school and Tagore collection.[14][15]
