This article is about the mathematical function . For information about the lambda function notation in computer science, see Lambda calculus.

In mathematics, the Lambda Function is an iterated exponential function, where a number, x, is raised to itself raised to the power (b−1):

Letting b tend to infinity causes the function to approach 1 for values |x| < 1, and infinity for x > 1. It can be expressed as an iterated exponential function: , where there are b levels of exponentiation, associated from the bottom up.
