A gif file is completly adequate for this type of file, as it does not show more than 256 colours. In this case PNG8 and GIF are equivalent, except that at some time there where some patent isues on GIF (ie the reason why PNG has ben developped).

This is NOT a screenshot of copyrighted computer software. It is a screenshot of an OUTPUT from software. Microsoft has NO copyright control over my book, even if I composed it in MSWord. The screenshot has no file structure, no menu data, no logos. Everything in it is user selectable with the possible exception of the gridlines, which even Microsoft wouldn't try to claim a copyright for.

The copyright for its contents cannot be held by the author(s) or the company that created the software, and the contents of this post cannot be subject to copyright as a product of MS Explorer.
