For discussion of the rank of Colonel-Commandant, see Brigadier.

Colonel-Commandant, in addition to being a specific rank in Commonwealth militaries from 1922 to 1928, is also a designation used for officers holding honourary appointments within a corps or branch of the Canadian Forces.
