Information Processing and Management is a peer-reviewed academic journal,

It was founded as Information Storage and Retrieval in 1963; in 1975 it changed its name to the present one.

Prof. Bernard Fry of Indiana University was the Editor-in-Chief from 1965-1985 followed by Professor Tefko Saracevic1985-2008; from 2008 Editor-in-Chief is Prof. Fabio Crestani of University of Lugano, Switzerland
