Caesium hexafluorocobaltate(IV)
Appearance
Caesium hexafluorocobaltate(IV) is a rare example of cobalt(IV) complexs with the chemical formula Cs
2CoF
6. It can be synthesized by the reaction of Cs
3[(CoCl
4)Cl] and fluorine.[1]
It has cubic K2PtCl6 structure, with the lattice constant a = 8.91 Å, and the length of Co-F bond is 1.73 Å. Its ferromagnetic is complex and the ground state of Co(IV) is 2T2.[2]
