The Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory (LMSAL) is a branch of Lockheed-Martin that is known primarily for its scientific work in the field of solar physics, astronomy and space weather. Located in Palo Alto, California, LMSAL is involved in many ground-based and space missions to study the Sun, including SOHO, TRACE, Yohkoh, STEREO/SECCHI, and the pending GOES/SXI, Solar-B and Solar Dynamics Observatory missions.

The LMSAL team has a close affiliation with the corresponding solar physics group at Stanford University.
