HERMES

A project management method It is based on the V Model of Germany. [1] HERMES is developed by the Swiss Government and is improved continuously. [2]


Introduction

Following British and German gouvernment examples, the Swiss Government has developed it own Project Management Method. The first domain of application was Software Projects. HERMES is in use since over 30 years.


HERMES 2003: a method with bright future

"HERMES 2003, Führen und Abwickeln von Projekten im Bereich der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik (IKT)" is an open standard of the Swiss Federal Administration that supports most actual requirements. It is a complete solution, that meets the needs of most types of projects and project managers

The current solution is available on line and provides support using different kinds of documents. The HERMES method, resources --Renebach 18:21, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Personal note: I believe truly in HERMES. It provides a check list and explanations for all main project management activities. We are currently working on integrating HERMES and RUP. [3]. HERMES provides the framework for the overall project management while RUP provide the basis for iterative (OO) software development.
