Large-scale Complex IT Systems
The Large-scale Complex IT Systems (LSCITS) project is engaged in research in research into some of the problems of developing large-scale, complex IT systems (sometimes referred to as Ultra Large Scale Systems) and in delivering a graduate education program in this topic. The project is funded by the EPSRC, with approximately £9 million in funding awarded between 2008-2013 [1] [2][3]

Research
The aim of the LSCITS research project is:
" to improve existing technical approaches to complex systems engineering and to develop new socio-technical approaches that help us understand the complex interactions between organisations, processes and systems" [6].
