Hi. Thank you for your help with the vital work of patrolling new pages. I noticed that you are not marking some of the pages you've reviewed as patrolled. Please do remember to click the 'mark this page as patrolled' link at the bottom of the new page if you have performed the standard patrolling tasks. Where appropriate, doing so saves time and work by informing fellow patrollers of your review of the page, so that they do not duplicate efforts. Thanks again for volunteering your time at the new pages patrol project. →Στc. 05:45, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, didn't know about that, thanks! Angry Python (talk) 05:50, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of tongues and drums...

Thank you for finding the right redirect (finally!) for Tongue drum. When I came across the article I thought it sounded as though it was describing something remarkably like a slit drum; I should have just made it a redirect there myself and saved you the trouble. Cheers, Yunshui (talk) 22:30, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! There's far too much work to do here, so we share it out. :-) Cheers, Angry Python (talk) 22:32, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Question

Hi. I noticed your report at UAA and looked through some of your recent contributions. Have you ever edited Wikipedia before? I saw that you were making edits not generally common to new users, including using Twinkle and fixing double redirects. TNXMan 14:18, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I edited a while back under another account, and have also done a fair bit of anonymous editing. Angry Python (talk) 18:08, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On Dr. Binkley's Philosophy ...

Hello AngryPython -

Re: /* Timothy Binkley */ Responded to AngryPython's questions and gave a different link illustrating a citation of Dr. Binkley's ideas.

Please forgive, I am new at this. Dr. Binkley uses the term "metamedium," which is relevantly similar to McLuhan's "metamedia." I was not sure how to give citations and cross-reference this point ... as you are right! No one mentions the two together that I have found. Consequently, I searched for pieces in which both McLuhan and Binkley's ideas were discussed in the context of "metamedia" or "digital media" or the more esoteric "metamedium."

And you are correct Wechsler and Traub refer to Binkley's work without mentioning his name in the article. References to his writings appear in the footnotes (3 for Wechsler, 1 for Traub). I am sorry if I misunderstood how to do wikipedia citations correctly.

Here is a link to Elizabeth Bell's Book, "Theories of Performance," showing her mention of Dr. Binkley's ideas. http://books.google.com/books?id=Qb9wZsoJw3YC&lpg=PT277&ots=sys1Jw6KPL&dq=Timothy%20Binkley%20Marshall%20McLuhan&pg=PT277#v=onepage&q=Timothy%20Binkley%20Marshall%20McLuhan&f=false

True, it is not the best citation for the points concerning Dr. Binkley's philosophy.

I have removed all references for the moment. And I DO appreciate your guidance as I am a novice here and wish to learn how to maintain the high standards of credibility.

Thanks for your patience with me, AngryPython, and for helping correct my "bads." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sonyashannon (talkcontribs) 22:44, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome, and thanks very much indeed for creating the article. No "bads" that I can see! You're doing great. If I can help in any way to improve the article, just ask. Thanks, Angry Python (talk) 08:54, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Edward & Rodney Show

Excuse me, I'm sorry for creating The Edward & Rodney Show page on Wikipedia, but this is a fanfiction series that I made. EdtheRatchetHD (talk) 05:11, 23 October 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by EdtheRatchetHD (talkcontribs)

The problem with the article is that it doesn't assert notability per WP:WEB. Please also have a read of WP:Conflict of interest, and wait for someone not connected with your series to write an article about it. Thanks, Angry Python (talk) 05:15, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling

HI. I notice that you tagged the article Oscar Kawagley as requiring more sources. This is an unsourced BLP. All unsourced BLPs since March 2010 should be tagged with the WP:BLPPROD template. Happy patrolling! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:14, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling

Hi. Thank you for patrolling new pages. Please read WP:REDIRECT and WP:NPP. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:15, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but what is it that you think I need to understand better from WP:REDIRECT? Angry Python (talk) 13:15, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you read WP:REDIRECT you'll understand that users should not make redirects out of mainspace pages. When you come across a page like that , please tag the page for deletion under the appropriate CSD criterion, and if there really is something to redirect to, create a redirect. For full instruction on patrolling new pages please see WP:NPP, and feel free to ask me for advice. Thanks.
OK I suppose it's too late now to ask you on which article I let that happen? :-) I have no recollection of it myself. Thanks, Angry Python (talk) 10:26, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Angry Python

My article on Philip Michael Wolfson, Keep being deleted, i cannot write in any other way. i have used citing and my own words and i am a designer i know of Philip Michael Wolfsons work and i would like to post a page on him to tell others about his work and his inspirations. i was trying not to write it in a personal matter but it is very hard when the quotes i want to use from the books i have are in personal interview context. please can you help me to re write my article in a manor that does not cause it to be deleted.. Please can you help me Userfy the content.

--ChrisRidout (talk) 15:35, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I could userfy it, but until copyright is sorted out it wil get deleted there too. I strongly suggest that you read WP:Conflict of interest, and wait for someone not connected with your employer to write an article about him. Thanks, Angry Python (talk) 16:04, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrolling

Hi. Thank you for patrolling new pages. I noticed you patrolled the page NineStudios, but you did not appear to have performed all the necessary steps. Please consider returning to the article and applying additional maintenance tags or tag for deletion as appropriate. For full instructions on patrolling new pages, please see WP:NPP, and feel free to ask me for further advice. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:18, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ruhet genc

dear python,

i just received your comment on the article mentioned above. could u specifically tell me what kind of changes does the article need?

thank u in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Es Dziekuje (talkcontribs) 11:42, 25 October 2011 (UTC) Es Dziekuje (talk) 11:45, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That article was deleted following a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ruhet Genç, where the consensus was that he didn't meet the notability criteria described in WP:ACADEMIC. A reviewing administrator will determine whether the article has changed significantly since that discussion. Thanks, Angry Python (talk) 11:46, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
