|}Helpful information
- Don't be discouraged. Don't be scared.
- Search Wikipedia to see if the topic already has an article, or could be a section within an article.
- Search Google, Baidu, Tom, Sina, etc. If the topic is talked about in lots and lots of different websites, it is probably good. If not, it may be deleted.
- Write in your own words. Just add facts, not your opinions. Don't copy and paste.
- Do not link to copyright violations. This includes virtually everything you find with Baidu MP3 search or a similar website.
- Don't use Baidu Baike, Hudong, forums, or other websites where anybody can add information. Yes, this includes other Wikipedia articles.
- Add as many references as possible, like this: <ref>http://www.example.com</ref> to the end of the sentences or paragraphs.
- Add this to the bottom of the article:
- ==References==
- {{reflist}}
- ==References==
- Look at other articles to see how it is done. Click edit and see how it is put together.
- Visit #wikipedia-en-help connect. There are lots of people online who can help. It's like very simple QQ.
- Looking for inspiration on an article? check Chinese wikipedia. You can start to translate from there, but remember to add references; and say you translated it in the edit summary.
- zh.wikipedia also has lots of helpful articles about how to edit and how to use Wikipedia format. Since the explanations are in Chinese it may be easier to learn by reading the explanations on zh.wikipedia 维基百科:使用指南/入门, and making a few first edits on zh.wikipedia.
- please link to zh.wikipedia articles. For example this edit shows how YuHua Stone was linked to the zh.wikipedia article by adding a last line zh:雨花石 that last line zh:雨花石 creates a side column link on en.Wikipedia which says 中文, and a "bot" will automatically add a reverse link on zh.wikipedia with en:Yuhua Stone as the last line on the Chinese article. Then users of zh.wikipedia and en.wikipedia can travel easily between the two articles. Good luck with editing on zh. and on en. 加油! In ictu oculi (talk) 15:09, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
