Proposals, May 2011

Please check how many articles qualify for a stub type before proposing it.

If (after approval) you create a stub type, please be sure to add it to the list of stub types. This page will be archived in its entirety once all discussions have been closed; there is no need to move them to another page.

Back in December this cat was created, along with a correctly formed {{Oregon-org-stub}} template; I can only speculate that someone was hitting the egg nog when naming the category. Rename to Category:Oregon organization stubs. Pegship (talk) 00:00, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Usually handled through SFD< but with such an obvious one I don't see any reason why it shouldn't bee speedied....hey....Pegship! Welcome back! Grutness...wha? 01:03, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Oops. Been too long; I forgot the procedure. Good to see you too, G. :P Pegship (talk) 03:40, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Welcome back Pegship, nice to see you again. I'm sure this was suggested here and it was mentioned that the category should be at organization so support
Support with all the rest. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 16:22, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Moved to sfr as advised. Pegship (talk) 02:45, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Martinique stubs

While it is true that Category:Sculpture stubs doesn't yet need splitting (and has quite a number of sculptor articles in it which shouldn't be there, I think a separate stub for monuments and memorials would be useful and would almost certainly get to the threshold for a separate category (Category:Monument and memorial stubs). A quick coulty shows that over 450 of the current sculpture stubs have either the word "monument" or "memorial" as part of their name, and it's likely that many others in the category would qualify for this proposed stub type. Grutness...wha? 01:48, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

  • I'm not 100% convinced by the template name, the reason being that in the Netherlands the equivalent of a graded property or NRHP is called a reiksmonument often shortened to monument so things could get confusing. I dont think {{memorial-stub}} would be much better either and putting both in there would be unecessarily large template name. Waacstats (talk) 09:21, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
What about creating a stub tag for the latter titled {{Rijksmonument-stub}}? (Apologies if I've got the spelling wrong). I think a monument stub tag would be a great help, yes. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 13:35, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
I was just pointing out that linking monuments to sculptures would be problematic. A {{Reiksmonument-stub}} would be the dutch equivalent of {{NRHP-stub}}, may be a {{Sculpture-monument-stub}} would be better.Waacstats (talk) 23:12, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Given the name of the opermcat, perhaps two separate templates: {{Sculpture-monument-stub}} and {{Memorial-stub}}? Grutness...wha? 00:47, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

New moth templates and categories

Speedy requests for moth categories

The template for the stub (Template:RichmondVA-geo-stub), when compared to the category it links to, has resulted in a geographically inaccurate goof. Richmond, Virginia refers to an the independent capital city in the central part of the state, whereas Richmond County, Virginia is an unrelated rural county located a good distance away (see the leads of both articles for more to back that up). Thus the template used refers to the city, whereas the category refers to the county, and the articles marked with it are a jumbled mess of both. Please advise! Morgan Riley (talk) 22:01, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Those related to Richmond city should use {{RichmondCityVA-geo-stub}} so the template needs ammending and the articles relating to the city need moving. Waacstats (talk) 19:59, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Country-level restaurant templates

Country-level European rail stations

This is a second stub proposal for this title to the existing one in wikipedia. I will supply the article for the new definition. From: emazoff. 15:25, 9 May 2011

Which articles would this template be used on? Is there a category containing them? SeveroTC 18:18, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
The entire Category:Software maintenance has way too few articles to merit a stub type, and the article Software Lifecycle Management is an orphan. Do not create imho. Pegship (talk) 23:54, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Proposed Music Genre Stubs

There are many stubs that should be created, but aren't. Examples:

  • Template:Punk-stub Punk rock stub
  • Rock music stub
  • Template:Grunge-stub Grunge music stub
  • Template:Rock 'n' Roll-stub Rock 'n' Roll music stub
  • Template:Techno-stub Techno music stub
  • Template:Alternative-stub Alternative rock stub

Those are just some I would love to see created. Logan The Master (talk) 18:45, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

While I have no problem with most of these concepts, I would suggest some different names:

Only just found this - thanks to it being put at the wrong place on the page. Given that the punk one is at punkmusic-stub, the others should follow suit, surely - at rockmusic-stub, grungemusic-stub, etc... eithe that or the punk one need renaming that to {{punk-music-stub}} (probably a better idea). Will suggest it at SFD. Grutness...wha? 13:07, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
