Citation Style 1 (CS1) is a well-used method of referencing Wikipedia articles using a series of templates that in turn use the meta-template {{Citation/core}}. Templates in this series include general use templates, specific-source templates and templates that are completed by a bot.

Elements of a citation

A citation generally contains four main elements— author, title, date and source. These elements can be expanded or enhanced depending of the type of source.
