"Minature Sensor Technology Integration - 3 (MSTI-3)" mission will gather data on background infrared phenomenology of interest to space based surveillance systems. In addition, MSTI-3 will also support tests and demonstrations of uses for other programs. The satellite launched in May of 1996 for a one-year data collection period. SMC/Det-2 will operate the spacecraft from their facilities at Onizuka AFB. The MSTI program team will support payload operations and data processing from the MSTI Payload Operations Center (MPOC) in Alexandria, VA.
