Notability
The article lacks reliable independent sources WP:RS to establish notability WP:N as required by WP:GNG and WP:CORPDEPTH. The notability tag should not be removed until better sources are provided.
The sources cited are troublesome. I found the first one (Modular programming languages: 7th Joint Modular Languages Conference) on Amazon but according to the table of contents, the cited page 20 is in the middle of an article titled, "Event-Based Programming Without Inversion of Control", by Philipp Haller and Martin Odersky; David E. Lightfoot, named as the author is the volume editor. The second one (Future Information Technology, Part I: 6th International Conference) hasn't even been released yet. And as a primary source, the sourceforge link is useless for establishing notability. This does not look to me like the significant coverage required to establish notability.
In addition, I'm concerned that the article appears to largely paraphrasing the Chapel Overview on the Cray site for the purpose of promoting WP:PROMOTION a future product (e.g., "It is being developed as part of the Cray Cascade project") WP:CRYSTAL.
This article needs better sourcing. From the opening paragraph at WP:N, "if no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article." Msnicki (talk) 23:35, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
