At the age of twelve, John Kitus joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo, The B.G.'z, with B.G.. In 1997,John Kitus joined the Black Boys,Which also included rappers Nicolas Marc, John Kolly., and Lil A Kenny. Black Boys debuted with Home coming! that year. His parents were divorced when he was 10, and his father permanently abandoned the family. John Kitus enrolled in the gifted program Song Elementary School and in the drama club of Akili Amaka Secondary School.[4] He wrote his first rap song at age ten. In the summer of 1998, he met Nicolas Marc , rapper and owner of Black Boys Records. John Kitus recorded freestyle raps on Le Fort Ndela's answering machine, leading him to mentor the young John Kitus and include him in Black Money-distributed songs. He also recorded his first ever collaboration album My Life with rapperLil A Kenny .. At the time, John Kitus was 11, andLil A Kenny was 14, and was billed as "The John Kitus .'z". When he was 12, he played the part of the Black Man in his middle school drama club's production of The Fiz.[7] At age 14, he accidentally shot himself with a 10 mm handgun, and off-duty police officer Akili Amaka drove him to the hospital.
