Kotlin is a statically-typed programming language that runs on the JVM. It is currently in development by JetBrains.

Main goal of Kotlin is to provide better support for new language features that are missing in Java, basically making it a more powerful and compact language and still being able to have all the IDE support like navigation and refactoring.
