The GDL is the programming language of ArchiCAD libraries.

These libraries contains objects, which are similar to blocks in the AutoCAD, but unlike the blocks, these are parametric, and the 2D and 3D features are connected, so in all kind of view man can get the corrects visualization (for example a side view on the section, top view on plan, and perspective or isometry in the 3D view).

All versions of the ArchiCAD contains its own default libraries, also objects as furnitures, windows, doors, trees, peoples, cars, etc.

But there are a several commercial website for saling high-detailed intelligent parametric objects, which are perhabs better and more variable than the default libraries, for example there are a lot of environmental objects like plants, peoples or garden elements, which are not included in the original software.
