Virtual memory operating system
Appearance
Virtual Memory Operating System (VMOS) was a computer mainframe operating system developed by RCA Corporation initially under the name Time Sharing Operating System (TSOS). It ran on RCA's Spectra 70 Series computers (models 46, 61, 3, and 7) in the late 1960s and early 1970s. After Sperry bought the RCA computer business in 1972, Sperry's Univac division ported VMOS to run on its 9700 computer. Univac then renamed VMOS to VS/9 and renamed the 9700 to 90/70.
