ScienceLogic is a software and service vendor that offers information technology (IT) management and monitoring solutions for IT Operations and Cloud computing.[1]
The company's main product, ScienceLogic EM7[2], is a comprehensive monitoring and management tool. It uses auto-discovery of physical and virtual infrastructure components, pre-integrated applications, customizable reporting features, automation tools, and a centralized data repository to report on the entirety of the IT operations and infrastructure.
EM7 is designed to work with systems in internal datacenters as well as externally hosted environments, including cloud providers.
History
ScienceLogic was founded in Reston, Virginia, in 2003.
By 2005, the company had more than tripled its revenue growth year-over year, [3]and had triple digit growth from 2005-2007[4].
In 2008, ScienceLogic posted $5.9M in revenue[5], and Inc. Magazine placed ScienceLogic on it's annual list of America's 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies at #350, also including it as #42 in the Top 100 IT Services Companies the same year. [6]. ScienceLogic made the same list for 2009, at position #490.[7]. ScienceLogic also was ranked #59 in the Deloitte's 2009 Technology Fast 500 Ranking.[8]
From 2003 to 2009, ScienceLogic had overall sales growth of more than 70% with no infusion of cash from outside investors. In 2010, ScienceLogic received $15 million in Series A funding from New Enterprise Associates.[9],
Products & Services
ScienceLogic offers EM7, an integrated IT operations and cloud computing monitoring and management solution available as an out-of-the-box appliance (all-in-one or distributed) or a virtual machine ISO.
The product offers monitoring and management of network, application, system, asset & configuration, service desk, event, IT ticketing, and virtualization across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures.
ScienceLogic EM7 includes runbook automation scripting to set up standard workflows and remediation policies based on standard operating procedures. These policies cause EM7 to kick-off specific actions when triggered by a designated event.
It also allows for show-back and cost allocation for cloud computing resources, and monitoring for VMware, Microsoft, Citrix, and open source virtualization solutions, for public and private cloud monitoring.
In addition to IT enterprises, the ScienceLogic target market includes hosting, managed service and cloud service providers. The EM7 technology is multi-tenant, which means service provider administrators can provide access and management views specific to individual customer needs.
