Proof troubles

"By (1), there is some x1 with ||x1|| < 1 and ||yAx1|| < δ / 2."

Can anyone reveal to me what (1) is applied to in order to arrive at this? -- Darij (talk) 11:31, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
