You know, you really have PISSED all over my recent, and very constructive updates, and I really resent it.

I strongly suspect you are relatively new to this art. Your updates certainly show a simplistic view of the OS and its components. Possibly a "textbook" view, with perhaps little practical experience.

My experience includes OS/360 from its very beginnings to ES/390, both as an end-user of System/360 hardware and software and as a manufacturer of System/370 and System/390 IBM-compatible hardware and software.

If you look at the software code for IECVEXCP and IEFUCBOB you'll see the programmer ID PDMS. MS is for Matthew Sabins, me, you'll see that ID for the last 10 years.

I strongly suspect you don't know how the code actually works or what has changed in the last couple of years. We shouldn't document what things used to do but actually what they do.
