This is a proposal to replace the current category headers with one standardised category header, possibly under the name Template:Category header. The proposed category header can be found at User:Mclay1/Category banner. Without any parameters it looks like this:
This template replaces the following templates:
- {{Cat main}}
- {{Double category}}
- {{Set category}}
- {{Wikipedia category}}
- {{Hidden category}}
- {{Tracking category}}
- {{Lists category}}
- {{Stub category}}
- {{Parent-only stub category}}
- {{Help category}}
- {{Redirect category}}
- {{All included}}
- {{User category}}
- {{Portal category}}
The template can be expanded to replace more templates if necessary.
Example: {{User:Mclay1/Category banner|class=content|type=set|contents=lists}} produces:
The message box only appears if the template is transcluded outside of the category namespace.
Example: {{User:Mclay1/Category banner|first=[[Pie|really good articles]]|class=admin|type=tracking|contents=lists|template=Example}} produces:
