The Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA) is an organization formed by Red Hat and IBM to promote KVM[disambiguation needed] as an alternative to VMware's virtualization platform. Since its formation, five other organizations have joined the OVA, inlcuding Intel, Hewlett-Packard, BMC Software, Eucalyptus, and SUSE Linux.[1] The OVA may also enhance consistency across KVM implementations.[2]
