Introduction
Howdy! I'm Dref, and I'm currently enrolled in a distance education course, CIS*2050, at the University of Guelph, which requires that I create a user page and entry on Wikipedia.
Personal Life
According to my father, I was born in the Toronto Zoo, which is where he found me after zookeepers had removed me from the Grizzly bear exhibit for being colic and stressing the bears. After liberation from my zoological Bastille, I emigrated to Scarborough, Ontario and grew up on the mean-streets of Malvern.
Currently, I live in my car as I've found it cheaper than renting a house in Guelph. Fortunately, I have been able to greatly reduce my commute time to campus as I park in the Future Shop parking lot behind the OMAFRA building.
Education and Academic Career
Before attending the University of Guelph and enrolling in Food Science as a mature student, I earned my Technician diploma in Biotechnology Technician - Industrial Microbiology from Centennial College of Applied Arts and Science [1] and had worked in the food industry, both in the private and public secotrs. I will be graduating in the Summer 2011 (S11) semester provided that meet all requirements to do so.
I hope to enroll as a graduate student for the Fall 2011 semester, again in Food Science, and continue my academic career as a bum as I do not want to do real work and get a job. Been there, done that. I have become accustom to waking up just after noon and do not believe I can go back to the working world where people expect you to earn your wages instead of having someone give them to you which is somewhat at odds with my centre-right conservative mindset. I live with this duality as I am a self-proclaimed hypocrite.
Hobbies
My hobbies are eccentric, but can be boiled down to three general categories:
