Introduction

Hey! My name is Sigrid, pronounced SIHG-rid. It's a female Scandinavian name meaning "victory". It was a very popular name in 1906 but declined since then. [1]

Personal Life

I was born in Manila, Philippines but as a child, my family and I moved frequently. I currently reside in Georgetown, Ontario, where Mike Holmes from the television show Holmes on Homes also lives.[2]

How I spent my first few weeks of Summer 2011

  1. Met the new Octagon Girl, Chandella Powell
  2. Took a picture with Rashad "Suga" Evans, a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion[3]
  3. Got an autograph from the current UFC Heavyweight Champion, Cain Velasquez[4]
  4. Watched the pride of the Philippines and first boxer in history to win ten world titles[5], Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao retain his WBO Welterweight world title against "Sugar" Shane Mosley

Education and Academic Career

By Fall 2011, I will be in my 4th year of Biological Sciences at University of Guelph with a minor in Nutritional Sciences. I'm hoping to get into a career involving rehabilitation and therapy, so that would involve getting a Master's degree of another 2 years.

Hobbies

I enjoy:

  • travelling, mainly to try new extreme sports such as wingsuit flying or surfing
  • teaching my dog (chow chow/German shepherd) new tricks
  • reading
  • playing basketball, ping-pong, weight training, etc.
  • volunteering
