Current Protocols is a series of laboratory manuals for life scientists. The flagship title, Current Protocols in Molecular Biology, was first published in 1987. It was conceived by a group of researchers at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.[citation needed] Since then, the series has continued to introduce additional Current Protocols titles.
Scientists contribute methods which are reviewed by one of 14 Editorial Boards. The core content of each title is updated, and new material is added, on a quarterly basis.
In 2009, a website was launched. The site features online versions of all of the texts, research tools, video protocols, and a blog.
